Job summary

Central Oregon Community College (COCC) is seeking a Bilingual GED Instructor/College Success Coach to serve Spanish-speaking adult learners in Redmond. You will balance classroom instruction with individualized student support to guide students from enrollment through GED completion and into college, workforce training, or employment.

Qualifications

• Two years teaching experience with adult learners, secondary students, or community college students.
• One year of experience advising, mentoring, coaching, or case management.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Teach 12 hours per week of in-person Spanish GED instruction.
• Teach Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts.
• Develop and maintain standards-based curriculum.
• Use instructional technology to enhance learning.
• Assess student progress and maintain instructional records.
• Create an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.
• Provide individualized academic advising and success coaching.
• Develop educational and career plans.
• Teach the Bridge to College course.
• Assist students with admissions, FAFSA / ORSA , Oregon Promise, registration, placement, and college navigation.
• Support transition into college, workforce training, or employment.
• Maintain accurate student records, case notes, and grant documentation.
• Monitor attendance, persistence, and completion.
• Coordinate referrals and interventions.
• Ensure compliance with FERPA and grant requirements.
• Participate in department meetings and professional development.
• Collaborate with HEP and ABS staff.
• Contribute to curriculum improvement.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
