Job summary

Aims Community College seeks a Bilingual Facilitator to teach GED and college prep skills, integrating career readiness for students with varying levels. The role includes administering GED tests and preparing students to succeed in college and career pathways.

The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, with a Bachelor’s degree and instructional experience, and is comfortable with evenings and diverse learning needs. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus one year instructional experience or equivalent
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Familiarity with transitional programming (employment/college/vocational training)
• Experience administering tests (academic/placement tests)
• Able to handle multiple tasks and interruptions
• Effective communication with students, staff and administrators
• Proficient with Windows-based PCs and Office products
• Excellent customer service skills
• Team oriented
• Able to work evenings and with diverse student needs
• Able to teach core subjects

Responsibilities

• Instruct GED prep and related topics; provide information to GED students via phone, email, or in person
• Prepare students for GED and other exams; assess readiness
• Teach math, science, English and literature; tutor individually
• Integrate objectives into daily instruction and monitor progress
• Utilize curriculum resources and public library materials
• Administer GED pre-tests and other assessments
• Proctor exams and ensure test integrity
• Handle testing administration tasks and accommodations logistics
• Maintain confidentiality per FERPA standards
• Collaborate with Adult Education Coordinator to meet program goals
• Facilitate adult basic education workshops
• Perform other duties as assigned
