Job summary

The New York Foundling, a historic New York nonprofit, seeks a Foster Care Case Planner to advance permanency for children through reunification, adoption, or independent living preparation. You will work with families, attend court hearings, and coordinate referrals to services as part of a trauma‑informed team.

Qualifications

• BA/MA in Psychology, Sociology, BSW or MSW with 1-2 years child welfare experience preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish required.
• Typing skills and computer literacy required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of 12 cases on average.
• Attend all court proceedings on time with prepared court reports and/or permanency reports.
• Conduct home visits to the homes of foster parents and birth parents / discharge resources.
• Coordinate and facilitate family and sibling visitations/meetings.
• Provide outreach/advocacy services and connect families with community resources.
