Job summary

Bento Inc. is seeking a Bilingual Food Manufacturing / Industrial Maintenance Supervisor in Chicago, IL. You will lead the maintenance team in a fast-paced food-processing setting, ensuring equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on maintenance skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish. Eligible candidates will work Monday–Friday with evening shifts and some weekend work, at the Chicago Food Factory.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and pneumatic systems.
• Experience in food processing or similar environments is desirable.
• Proficient in using CMMS and reading schematics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities to optimize productivity.
• Oversee preventive maintenance and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and structural issues across facilities.
• Read schematics, blueprints and technical drawings for repairs and installations.
• Maintain records of work orders and parts inventory.
• Ensure GMP and food safety compliance.

BILINGUAL FOOD MANUFACTURING / INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Location

• Chicago Food Factory- 2136 South Peoria Street Chicago, IL 60608 | Monday to Friday, 4:30 pm to 1:00 am, One weekend day working.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead the maintenance team and oversee the upkeep of our facilities and equipment. The role involves supervising maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, and managing a team in a fast-paced food-processing environment. It requires strong technical expertise, effective leadership skills, and a commitment to workplace safety, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.

• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities for the team, ensuring optimal productivity and minimal downtime.
• Supervise and execute preventive maintenance tasks and ensure work has been done correctly and safely.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and structural issues with machinery and facility systemsincluding electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC.
• Monitor work orders, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance projects.
• Collaborate with the production team to address equipment performance issues and recommend improvements.
• Oversee inventory of spare parts and supplies to maintain smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Repair and replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Perform TIG welding for equipment repairs, fabrication, and maintenance as required.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots of electrical and mechanical failure.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to support equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and installations.
• Perform facility maintenance, including plumbing, patching walls, electrical repairs, etc.
• Maintain accurate record of mechanical activities, including work orders, parts inventory, and service logs.
• Follow GMP and Food Safety and comply with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience working in industries such as food processing, or similar environments is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent people skills, know how to de-escalate tense moments.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• SQF maintenance knowledge is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish required.
