Job summary

Step-By-Step Cultural Arts is seeking a Ballet Folklórico Youth Dance Instructor to teach and inspire TK-12th grade students on school campuses and in our studio. The role requires delivering engaging dance lessons, planning culturally rich activities, and managing classroom dynamics to foster inclusion and teamwork.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience with children in educational or youth settings, plus 2 years of Ballet Folklórico or 3 years in another dance form.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of successful experience working with children in educational, artistic, or youth development settings.
• 2 Years Ballet Folklórico dance experience or 3 years dance experience in another genre of dance. Training will be provided.
• Familiarity with instructional strategies and techniques.
• Classroom teaching experience is strongly preferred, particularly in Ballet Folklórico.
• Ability and willingness to travel to various program sites and community events is required.
• Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting). Must pass drug testing. Provide a clear TB test CPR/ First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

• Teach and deliver Ballet Folklórico dance instruction to TK-12th grade students on school campuses and in our studio.
• Plan and develop culturally rich lesson plans that align with program objectives.
• Supervise students, manage equipment and supplies, and ensure safety in classes.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audio/video equipment to support instruction and performances.
• Collaborate with other instructors and provide onboarding and mentorship to new staff.
• Contribute to program development and participate in professional development activities.
