Job summary

NORC at the University of Chicago seeks Field Data Collectors to conduct in-person interviews in respondents' homes and remote field settings. You will document survey data and handle information securely while working independently with flexible evening and weekend hours.

Ideal candidates enjoy meeting people from diverse backgrounds, can manage their own schedule, and are comfortable making cold contacts by phone or in person. Spanish/English bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be available for 20–25 hours per week including evenings and weekends.
• Comfortable approaching people in-person at homes.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Residency within 100 miles of posting location.
• I-9 work eligibility in the United States.
• 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gain cooperation of respondents to complete surveys.
• Maintain neutral and objective communication with respondents.
