Job summary

Butler County Educational Service Center in Hamilton, Ohio seeks a Family Support Specialist - Translation to recruit and enroll children under Ohio Preschool regulations, liaise with families and staff, and link families to community services.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish, a Bachelor's degree (preferred) in a related field, and at least two years of relevant experience; valid Ohio driver’s license is required. Salary is $20.00–$26.50 per hour, full-time, until filled.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in social services, sociology, psychology, or related field.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Two years relevant work experience in family/social services.
• Knowledge of community resources and health and human system operations.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with good driving record and daily access to private insured vehicle during working hours.
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving, and team building skills.
• Computer expertise appropriate to the position.
• History of good job attendance.
• Must pass criminal background checks and be free from communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• The Family Support Specialist will recruit and enroll children in accordance with the Ohio Department of Education Pre-School regulations, BCESC policies and procedures; serve as a liaison between parents and staff; assess and ensure that comprehensive services are provided for all children on caseload and to link families with the appropriate community social service/health service agency for direct services.
