Job summary

Midway Living, Inc. seeks a Senior Superintendent to oversee day-to-day maintenance operations, supervise staff, and ensure safety and compliance in a residential or commercial facility.

The role requires coordinating repairs, vendor management, and proactive system monitoring (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), while collaborating with tenants and case managers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance and operations in shelters preferred.
• OSHA certification.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and custodial staff to ensure a safe, clean, and dignified living environment for all residents.
• Coordinate the routine inspections of apartments, common areas, and building systems to proactively address maintenance needs and health/safety issues.
• Coordinate handymen repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building infrastructure, prioritizing urgent resident concerns.
• Coordinate with case managers, social services staff, and security personnel to support housing stability and respond sensitively to resident needs.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and compliance-related activities in alignment with supportive housing regulations.
• Oversee inventory and procurement of supplies and ensure vendor and contractor work meets quality, safety, and agency standards.
• Balance a 75% managerial to 25% hands-on workload
