Job summary

Montgomery-Public-Schools is seeking an Itinerant ESL Paraprofessional to support multilingual learners at sites with many non-English-speaking students and families. You will assist staff in communicating with parents and students and may provide academic support and family engagement activities.

Under the supervision of the ESL Education Specialist, the role emphasizes confidentiality, accurate interpretation, and adherence to district policies while supporting students and families.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and at least one additional language (oral and written).
• High school diploma required.
• Knowledge of educational terminology and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between school staff and families with interpretation and translation support.
• Provide accurate, confidential interpretation during parent-teacher conferences, enrollment, and school events.
• Maintain confidentiality under FERPA and submit documentation of services.
• Perform other duties to support students and families.
