Job summary

Montgomery Public Schools is seeking a District English Second Language Family Liaison and Interpreter to support multilingual learners and their families across the district. The role ensures effective communication, compliance with federal/state requirements, and equitable instructional support in the Office of Academics and Accountability.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher from an accredited institution in education, interpretation, linguistics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in English and at least one other language (Spanish preferred; additional languages beneficial).
• Three (3) years of experience working with English Learners (ELs) or interpretation services.
• Strong knowledge of Title III, ESSA requirements, and Alabama ESL regulations.
• Excellent communication, cultural competency, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between school staff and families with interpretation and translation support.
• Provide accurate, confidential interpretation services during parent-teacher conferences and other district meetings.
• Assist with enrollment and registration communications.
• Support school events and family workshops.
• Maintain confidentiality per FERPA, submit documentation of services.
• Perform other duties to support students and families.
• Adhere to district policies, procedures, and regulations.
