Job Summary
The Providence Center Bilingual Employment Specialist will coordinate vocational and employment services following the Individual, Placement, Support (IPS) model, in conjunction with multi-disciplinary team members, to support individuals in identifying, securing, and maintaining employment opportunities of their choice.
Responsibilities
- Orient referred individuals to Employment Services, available services, departmental goals, and philosophies; complete intakes and schedule follow-up services in a timely manner.
- Administer assessments and evaluations or make appropriate referrals.
- Begin job development within 30 days of intake.
- Develop and implement individual employment and treatment plans based on evaluations, assessments, and client goals.
- Participate as a multi-disciplinary team member, effectively communicating consumer status for service coordination.
- Coordinate with the Office of Rehabilitation Services for referrals, intakes, and reports.
- Develop and place individuals in supported employment sites aligned with their strengths and interests.
- Meet individual and team goals.
- Coordinate and facilitate employment classes and workshops.
- Provide direct services including job development, coaching, and support.
- Transport consumers as needed.
- Maintain recordkeeping and confidentiality according to policies.
- Maintain relationships with staff, consumers, and community agencies.
- Attend trainings, conferences, and serve on committees.
- Work flexible hours as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a vocational/employment setting preferred.
- Experience with psychiatric disabilities is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and insured auto.
- Bilingual Spanish required.
- Marketing background is a plus.
