Job description

The Providence Center Employment Specialist will coordinate vocational and employment services following the Individual, Placement, Support (IPS) model, in conjunction with multi-disciplinary team members, to support individuals in identifying, securing, and maintaining employment opportunities of their choice.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, with a one-hour lunch break.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Orient referred individuals to Employment Services, available services, departmental goals, and philosophies; complete intakes and schedule follow-up services promptly.
  2. Administer assessments and evaluations or make appropriate referrals.
  3. Begin job development within 30 days of intake.
  4. Develop and implement individual employment and treatment plans based on evaluations, assessments, reports, strengths, barriers, and the individual’s goals, needs, and interests.
  5. Participate as a multi-disciplinary team member in ICTT, outpatient teams, and WEE, communicating consumer status effectively for service coordination.
  6. Coordinate with the Office of Rehabilitation Services for referrals, intakes, job development, placement, retention, and reporting.
  7. Develop and place individuals in supported employment sites aligned with their strengths, needs, interests, and preferences.
  8. Meet established individual and team goals.
  9. Coordinate and facilitate employment-related classes and workshops to support clients in achieving employment goals.
  10. Provide direct services such as job development, coaching, on-site supports, transportation, and life management.
  11. Participate in developing and implementing therapeutic services, including working with substance abusers.
  12. Transport consumers using own vehicle or Center van to activities and appointments.
  13. Complete recordkeeping in accordance with HIS and Center policies, maintaining confidentiality.
  14. Maintain cooperative relationships with staff, consumers, community agencies, and the public.
  15. Communicate with local agencies and other departments within The Center.
  16. Attend trainings, case presentations, conferences, and mandatory in-service sessions.
  17. Participate actively in professional and community organizations as appropriate.
  18. Work flexible hours as needed for coaching, networking, or support activities.
  19. Serve on appropriate Providence Center committees.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field.
  2. At least 2 years’ experience in a vocational/employment setting preferred.
  3. Experience with psychiatric disabilities preferred.
  4. Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle required.
  5. Marketing background is a plus.
