Job summary

Flint Community Schools seeks a Bilingual Paraprofessional to assist English Language Learner students under a Title III Intervention Teacher. You will provide individualized bilingual instructional support in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and help track student progress toward language and academic goals.

Strong interpersonal and computer skills are essential as you collaborate with teachers, staff, and families, while maintaining confidentiality and supporting a safe learning

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and harmoniously with all students, especially those at risk.
• Proficiency in typing and using a computer.
• Ability to interact with students, staff, and parents courteously and tactfully.
• Basic mathematics and pre-algebra concepts.
• Demonstrated proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading both English and Spanish.
• Must be bilingual.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to ELL students under the guidance of a Title III Intervention Teacher.
• Provide bilingual instruction to enhance listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
• Assist in administering assessments and tracking progress toward language acquisition and academic goals.
• Support creation and adaptation of instructional materials for diverse language and learning needs.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and progress.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents to support progress and engagement.
• Participate in training and professional development related to bilingual education.
