Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned.
• Physical Education Teachers: AED and CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Attend to attendance and ensure regular and reliable participation as an essential function.
• Develop and implement lesson plans reflecting district curriculum and accommodations for individual differences.
• Plan and use instructional strategies, materials, and technology aligned with TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for IEPs and coordinate instructional goals.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement and support extracurricular activities as sponsor.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and manage student behavior per Student Code of Conduct.
• Establish professional relationships and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and the community.
• Participate in staff development, comply with regulations, attend faculty meetings, and contribute to committees.
