Job summary

SFUSD is seeking an Instructional Aide – Elementary Basic Skills, Spanish to support kindergarten through elementary students. The position is temporary and part-time, with a salary range noted per hour and a focus on basic skills in math, reading, science, social studies and writing.

Strong collaboration, communication and problem-solving abilities are essential, along with a commitment to equity and the SFUSD Graduate Profile.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher and/or 48 college units with a high school diploma required.
• Spanish fluency (reading, writing and verbal translation) is required.
• Substitution: CBEST or Instructional Aide Exam acceptable with HS diploma.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning lessons and preparing instructional materials.
• Supervises or tutors individuals or small groups in math, reading, science, social studies and writing.
• Administers tests, reviews and corrects assignments, maintains pupil profiles and portfolios.
• Maintains instructional equipment and supplies, and records keeping for devices and materials.
• Maintains classroom discipline and supports positive learning environment.
• May assist other staff in monitoring halls and on-site areas.
• Renders first aid and reports incidents as required.
• Publicizes educational development programs as needed.
• Performs related duties as required.
