Job summary

Wayside Schools in Austin, TX is seeking a Bilingual Elementary Paraprofessional to support classroom teachers and engage students in daily activities. The role requires assisting with materials, center setup, and small-group instruction under teacher direction.

The paraprofessional will help administer screenings, maintain records, and participate in enrichment activities, contributing to a positive learning environment and student growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree or SPED Paraprofessional certificate.
• Ability to work with individuals and small groups of children.
• Maintain required program records as needed.
• Assist staff with materials prep and organization.
• Meet State and Federal requirements for the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Teacher in preparing instructional materials.
• Arrange learning environment and organize centers.
• Work with assigned students under teacher direction.
• Administer and score screenings and assessments as required.
• Attend enrichment classes with students (art, PE, Spanish, music).
• Supervise students throughout the day and ensure safety.
• Assist with meals, dressing, toileting, and transitions.
