Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs and safety policies.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and facility audits; identify hazards and coordinate corrective actions.
• Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and injuries; prepare reports and corrective action plans.
• Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, training documentation, and compliance files.
• Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work documentation.
• Deliver safety orientation and ongoing training in English and Spanish; lead toolbox talks.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures, fire drills, and evacuation plans.
• Assist with environmental compliance, waste management, chemical inventory, and SDS management.

Bilingual Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) CoordinatorWeller Metalworks | Libertyville, ILFull-time, on-siteSalary: $60,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experienceHelp make our manufacturing floor a safer place to work.Weller Metalworks is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator who is fluent in English and Spanish, both spoken and written. You’ll lead and support safety and environmental initiatives, deliver employee training, investigate incidents, and partner with supervisors and leadership to improve workplace safety.This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working directly with employees on the manufacturing floor.What you’ll doDevelop, implement, and maintain EHS programs. Conduct routine safety inspections and facility audits, identify hazards, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions. Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and injuries; prepare reports and corrective action plans. Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, training documentation, and compliance files. Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work documentation.Deliver new-hire safety orientation, ongoing training, safety meetings, and toolbox talks in English and Spanish. Partner with supervisors to strengthen safe work practices and monitor proper PPE use.Coordinate emergency response procedures, fire drills, and evacuation plans. Assist with environmental compliance, waste management, chemical inventory, and Safety Data Sheet management. Recommend improvements that reduce workplace injuries and environmental risks.Required qualificationsFluency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written.At least three years of Environmental Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience conducting safety investigations.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.Preferred qualificationsOSHA 30 training.Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or a related field.Experience with ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001.First Aid/CPR certification.Experience with workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs.Forklift trainer certification.Work environment and physical requirementsThe role involves frequent walking throughout the manufacturing facility, standing for extended periods, and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds.
