Job summary

Aces is seeking Spanish interpreters and translators for per diem, on-call work across school districts in Connecticut. Roles include in-person assignments and virtual interpretation to support PPT meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other educational settings.

Candidates should have prior interpretation/translation experience in educational or professional settings, strong confidentiality, and proficiency in English and a second language.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English and the target language(s) with proven interpretation/translation experience in educational or professional settings.
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English and the second language, with accurate pronunciation and pace.
• Strong linguistic, cultural, interpersonal communication, and confidentiality skills.
• Flexibility and reliability to work on an as-needed, per-diem basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time verbal interpretation during meetings, PPTs, parent-teacher conferences, and other settings, both in-person and virtually.
• Translate written documents between English and target language while maintaining accuracy and cultural relevance.
• Review and edit translations for accuracy, grammar, readability, and style as needed.
• Attend training sessions to maintain high interpretation/translation standards and stay current on terminology.
• Communicate clearly in both directions to support mutual understanding among diverse participants.
