Job summary

Pathways for Children, Inc. is seeking qualified interpreters for on-demand, per diem work at our Massachusetts centers in Gloucester, Salem and Beverly, with community assignments as needed. Fluency in English with Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole is required.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English plus one of the target languages (Spanish, Portuguese or Haitian Creole).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, impartial oral interpretation between English and Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole during home visits, school meetings, calls and events.
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality in all interpreting assignments.
• Support communication for Education, Mental Health, Health, Social Services, Family Support and related programs.
• May include occasional written translation of short communications.
• Record and submit hours worked and assignments per agency procedures.
