Job summary

An Associate degree or 72 college credits, plus paraeducator certification, are required. The position requires completing district training and background clearances, with a 7.5-hour on-campus schedule over 183 work days.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 72 college credits or passing state test to demonstrate knowledge and ability to assist in instructing students.
• Paraeducator Certificate Program requirements and training timeline.
• Staff will complete 28 hours of FCS training within required timeframes.
• State requirements include fingerprints and background clearances.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to bilingual students or groups under teacher supervision.
• Translate/interpret school information for non-English-speaking families.
• Support teachers with classroom functions such as correcting papers and attendance.
• Attend trainings, workshops, and parent/staff conferences as assigned.
• Serve as interpreter during orientation, enrollment, and counseling procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of resources and establish effective relationships in a multicultural setting.
