Evanston/Skokie School District 65 is seeking Bilingual Paraprofessionals to support instructional programs for students with special needs in regular or self-contained classrooms. The role includes implementing IEP objectives, monitoring behavior, assisting with instruction, and coordinating with teachers to adapt materials.

Two positions are available for SY26/27, offering step-based compensation starting at $29,221.73 with benefits such as health insurance and retirement plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a job-related area.
• Certification as a Professional Educator and Substitute Teaching License; Educator License with Stipulations (TBE/PARA).

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities and materials to support objectives.
• Administers tests, homework, and make-up work to support teachers.
• Provides immediate first aid and health care as instructed by a health professional.
• Assists medically fragile students with personal hygiene.
• Attends meetings and in-service trainings to convey job-related information.
• Communicates with teachers, support staff, and parents regarding progress and IEP objectives.
• Implements behavioral plans designed by IEP teams for students with behavior disorders.
• Maintains instructional materials and records to ensure availability and compliance.
• Monitors students in various school environments to maintain safety.
• Delivers instruction to students in individual and group settings to reinforce objectives and IEP plans.
