Job summary

Evanston/Skokie School District 65 is seeking a paraprofessional for the Lincolnwood STEP program (SY26/27) to support instructional activities and assist special needs students in and out of the classroom. This role reports to the Principal and involves collaboration with licensed staff and related services.

The STEP program focuses on autism spectrum disorders, social and academic skills, and independence.

Qualifications

• Education required: Bachelor's degree in a job-related area.
• Certifications: must have one of the listed licenses.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities under supervising teacher for supporting objectives.
• Administers tests, homework, and makeup work to support instruction.
• Assists in medical care and personal hygiene for medically fragile students as needed.
• Attends meetings and communicates with staff and parents about progress and IEP objectives.
• Monitors students across school environments to maintain safety.
• Provides instruction to students to reinforce IEP goals and learning concepts.
