Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher; or at least sixty (60) semester hours from an accredited institution (official transcript required).
• Paraprofessional certification exam may substitute for education.
• Highly qualified prior to the start of employment.
• Ability to fulfill dexterity and physical requirements; work with school-age children.

Responsibilities

• Respond to internal and external customers in a timely, courteous, and empathetic manner.
• Provide bilingual communication support to teachers, staff and students through interpreting and translating data and information.
• Assist students individually for whom English is a second language to support comprehension and transition into an English-speaking environment.
• Communicate with parents and children to convey education and school-related information.
• Assist teachers in supervision of learning activities and provide learning support to students.
• Provide one-on-one instruction in the target language as applicable.
