Springfield Public Schools seeks a Part-Time (6.5 hpd.) Bilingual Educational Assistant at Hamlin Middle School in Springfield, Oregon. The role supports teachers in language-learning classrooms for students with limited English proficiency and helps with instructional tasks during school days.

Hours are 8:10 a.m. – 3:10 p.m. on 183 school days per year. The district emphasizes student outcomes and equitable access to education for all learners.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher (attach diploma) or
• Completion of two years post-secondary study (72 credit hours/48 sem. units)
• High school diploma/GED with demonstrated reading, writing, and math ability

Responsibilities

• Assist a teacher in language learning students as EL/bilingual support.
• Provide supplemental practice and targeted instruction under supervision.
• Record grades, manage materials, and maintain documentation.
• Assist in Health Room with first aid as needed.
• Support student management and safety during bus/van operations.
• Support 1:1 student needs including academic and social-emotional support.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials and setup/takedown as required.
• Assist with attendance and data entry tasks.
• Maintain student discipline in teacher's absence.
• De-escalate conflicts and promote positive interactions among students.
