Job summary

Springfield Public Schools is seeking a Substitute Bilingual Educational Assistant to work across multiple sites in Springfield, Oregon. The role offers a flexible schedule Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:30pm, with shifts between 3 and 7.75 hours daily.

Responsibilities

• Work Monday through Friday, 7:30am–3:30pm, with shifts ranging 3 to 7.75 hours per day.
• On-call substitute or planned schedule using Frontline software; may serve as interpreter/translator as needed.
• Assist staff, students and families and contribute to a supportive learning environment.
• Maintain professional conduct and adhere to district policies.

We are seeking outstanding candidates for the position of Substitute Bilingual Educational Assistant to work within the hours of M-F 7:30am-3:30pm; shifts range from 3 hpd to 7.75 hpd. Substitute Bilingual Educational Assistants work on-call or can plan their schedule in advance with our state‑of‑the‑art software, Frontline.

Individuals hired into this position may also, from time to time, be called upon to serve as an interpreter or translator in support of the District and families needing these services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher (attach diploma); OR
• Completion of two years post‑secondary study consisting of 72 credit hours, 48 semester units (attach transcripts); OR
• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) AND
• Meet a rigorous standard of quality, and can demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment or para‑professional certificate program, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, as appropriate, reading/language arts, writing and mathematics or reading readiness, writing readiness and mathematics readiness.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration & Other Requirements

• Ability to obtain and hold a valid First Aid/CPR card and pass Safe Schools training modules as assigned.
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
