Job summary

Hamlin Middle School in Springfield, Oregon, seeks an Educational Assistant for 1:1 behavior & instruction. The role supports students in a 1:1 setting, may involve tutoring, social/emotional support, supervision, and adaptive instruction for non-English speakers.

Two vacancies, 9:00–3:30 or 7:45–2:15, Monday–Friday, 6.0 hours per day. The position requires an Associate or higher degree (or equivalent), valid First Aid/CPR and Safe Schools training, and prior educational experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher (attach diploma) or 72 credits with transcripts.
• High school diploma or GED and para-professional qualifications or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR and Safe Schools training.
• Relevant educational experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 student support under licensed teacher supervision.
• Assist with behavior management, de-escalation, and student safety.
• Record grades, complete district logs, and file classroom materials.
• Assist with attendance monitoring and reporting, as needed.
• Setup and take down materials to support learning and activities.
• Provide health room support and basic first aid if required.
• Communicate with students, families and staff to support student needs.
• Participate in trainings, meetings, and classroom planning.
