Job summary

Spring Independent School District seeks an ECSE Self Contained Paraprofessional to support bilingual instruction for 3- to 5-year-olds with disabilities in general education and special education settings.

This role assists the classroom teacher with language acquisition, literacy and daily living skills while aligning with IEPs and district policies. The position is 187 days, nonexempt, Para 4, and starts immediately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 48 college hours required.
• Educational Aide II Certificate preferred or willing to obtain.
• Fluent in English and Spanish required.
• NCLB test pass in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparation of instructional materials and displays.
• Assist teacher in implementing instructional plans for language acquisition, beginning literacy, and pre-academics.
• Maintain records and reports required by laws/regulations.
• Train, monitor, and coach students in classroom settings.
• Assist in crisis intervention and behavioral management as needed.
• Transport students using a district vehicle.
