Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a Bilingual Early Childhood Education Teacher to support Spanish-speaking learners in a nurturing, culturally responsive classroom. You will help students develop strong English skills while accessing grade-level content in their native language, tailoring instruction to linguistic and developmental needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required.
• Master’s degree required only for Concurrent Enrollment positions.
• Valid Colorado Department of Education teaching license.
• ELA‑S (English Language Acquisition - Spanish) certification and bilingual proficiency.
• Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Live and work with a permanent Colorado address.
• Ability to meet physical demands.

Responsibilities

• Administer, score, and interpret screening instruments; counsel students to support achievement.
• Monitor and enforce conduct; reinforce positive behavior per policy.
• Observe, evaluate, and report student performance and health; prepare objectives and materials.
• Present subject matter using various teaching methods and technology.
• Instruct students individually and in groups with diverse teaching methods.
• Establish clear objectives; prepare, administer, and grade tests; report grades.
• Prepare attendance and activity reports for administrators.
• Communicate with parents and guardians to resolve behavioral and academic problems; coordinate instructional efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned; participate in extra-duty activities as per bargaining agreement.
