Job summary

Easterseals Chicago is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) HS-EHS Classroom Support Specialist to provide half-day support to multiple classrooms daily. You will help implement Head Start objectives, support inclusion for children with disabilities, and assist teachers with activities while maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment.

Requirements include CDA credentials (Infant/Toddler or Preschool) with potential 1-year credential completion if no degree, plus a paraprofessional

Qualifications

Minimum CDA in Infant/Toddler or Preschool; must obtain both credentials within 1 year if no degree.
Preferred: Associate's degree in early childhood education (30 credits, 15 in ECE).
ECE Level 2 credentials to be completed within 1 year of hire.
Paraprofessional license required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Support classroom quality in partnership with leadership and staff.
Assist in inclusive, developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
Support children with disabilities or social-emotional needs and inclusive practices.
Use data from assessments to guide lesson planning for individuals and groups.
Maintain up-to-date documentation in child education files and relevant databases.
Ensure active supervision and child safety at all times.
Document observations and interventions in the classroom database.
