Job summary

Easterseals serving Chicagoland and Greater Rockford is seeking a HS-EHS Classroom Support Specialist - Bilingual Spanish to assist HS/PFA and EHS/PI classrooms. The role involves ½ day classroom coverage daily, supporting children with diverse needs, and helping teachers with planning, inclusion, and safe operations.

Responsibilities include implementing the Creative Curriculum, documenting progress, and supporting families.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Infant/Toddler or Preschool CDA Credential; both credentials within 1 year if no degree.
• Preferred: Associate's degree in early childhood education with 30 college credits, including 15 in ECE.
• ECE Level 2 within 1 year of hire.
• Paraprofessional license required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support the classroom quality in partnership with leadership and staff.
• Assist with inclusive practices for children with disabilities and diverse needs.
• Help implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and observation documentation.
• Maintain accurate records in Child Plus, Teaching Strategies GOLD, and portfolios.
• Ensure active supervision and safe, healthy learning environments.
• Contribute to parent communication and family engagement.
• Support center readiness for ExeleRate and NAEYC Accreditation.
