Job summary

Ocean State Behavioral is hiring a Direct Support Professional (HBTS) for our Youth Behavioral Program in Johnston, RI. This part-time role offers evening hours (10-20 hours per week) at $27.50 per hour and involves visiting clients’ homes 3–4 hour shifts on weekdays, with some weekend coverage as needed.

You will support a young person with a behavioral plan, coach family members, and document observations while coordinating with the clinical team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• Calm, consistent, and patient personality.
• Experience supervising with children or adults with developmental disabilities or relevant bachelor’s program coursework.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
• Candidate must provide a clean background check and permit DCYF clearance check.

Responsibilities

• Visit a client’s home 3–5 weekdays evenings for a 3–4 hour shift.
• Occasionally 3–4 hour shifts on Saturday or Sunday mornings/afternoons.
• Help a young person follow a behavioral support plan developed by the clinical team.
• Coach family members to reinforce clinical strategies consistently.
• Document behavioral data, shift notes, and client observations.
• Collaborate with client’s clinical support team.
