Job summary

Community Health Partnership of Illinois seeks a compassionate Dental Assistant to join the Kankakee dental team. You will work closely with dentists and clinical staff to deliver welcoming, high-quality care to diverse patients.

Responsibilities include chairside support, room prep, X-ray help, sterilization, impressions, patient education, and record maintenance. Bilingual Spanish/English candidates are encouraged; compensation ranges from $18–$21 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a dental assisting program or relevant clinical experience preferred.
• Familiarity with dental instruments, infection-control practices, and sterilization procedures.
• Dental X-ray qualification/certification preferred.
• Strong communication and patient-service skills.
• Dependent, organized, and attentive to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during dental examinations and procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care.
• Assist with dental X-rays in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
• Take dental impressions and assist with other laboratory procedures.
• Help patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive dental care.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Support appointment scheduling and other dental office functions as needed.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and patient-ready clinical environment.
