Job summary

Community Health Partnership of Illinois (CHP) is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our Kankakee dental team. You will provide chairside support, prepare rooms and instruments, assist with X-rays, and help maintain a welcoming, patient-centered environment.

Ideal candidates may have dental assisting experience or completion of a dental assisting program, with strong communication skills and a commitment to quality care for diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• Dental assisting experience, completion of a dental assisting program, or relevant clinical experience preferred
• Familiarity with dental instruments, infection-control practices, and sterilization procedures
• Dental X-ray qualification/certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during dental examinations and procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care
• Assist with dental X-rays in accordance with applicable requirements
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Take dental impressions and assist with other laboratory procedures
• Help patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive dental care
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
• Support appointment scheduling and other dental office functions as needed
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and patient-ready clinical environment
