Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc (AOI) in Sugar Land, TX seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects across our facilities. The role will coordinate across internal and external teams and may assist on facilities maintenance initiatives as needed.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction PM, strong budgeting and leadership skills, and is bilingual in Mandarin.

Qualifications

• Requires authorization to work in the United States.
• 5+ years of construction project management experience in commercial/industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, building systems, and project financial management.
• Proficient in project management software (Procore, MS Project, or similar) and MS Office.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
• Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction, renovation, and infrastructure upgrade projects from design through completion.
• Develop and oversee project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Coordinate and manage architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality, and resolve field issues.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
• Manage project documentation including contracts, RFIs, change orders, and closeout packages.
• Oversee commissioning, turnover, and warranty processes.
• Provide PM support for facilities maintenance initiatives and capital repairs.
• Evaluate vendor proposals for maintenance-related work.
• Coordinate minor facility projects and safety improvements.
