Job summary

Independent-Bank in Tennessee seeks a bilingual (English/Spanish) Collector to contact customers, assess delinquency, and negotiate repayment terms to cure accounts. The role includes skip tracing, research, and adherence to bank policies and FDCPA.

The candidate will handle outbound/inbound calls, maintain relationships, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while working a 8am–5pm schedule, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of collections experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient in Windows and typing 30-35 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for outbound and inbound calls to collection accounts utilizing an auto-dialer
• Utilize daily contact and skip tracing efforts
• Develop and maintain ongoing customer relations
• Negotiate payment arrangements and follow-up procedures to cure delinquency
• Advise customers of responsibilities under loan contracts, and provide individual counseling on acceptable payment arrangements
• Adhere to guidelines stated in the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act
• Understands and applies knowledge of credit bureau reports as it relates to the performance of daily activities
• Other duties as assigned or required
• Must be able to work Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
