Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program is seeking a licensed clinician for the La Jornada program in Illinois. The role involves trauma-informed mental health assessments, counseling, advocacy, and support toward family reunification and living safely in the community.

The candidate will collaborate with a cross-functional team, maintain an active clinical caseload, and travel up to 25-30% to serve youth and families, with bilingual English/Spanish proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctorate in psychology, social work, counseling or related field required.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure; non-licensed staff must pursue licensure within 3 years.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required to serve children and families.
• Proficient use of computers and standard software.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed mental health services including assessments, referrals and counseling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional service team to deliver services and ensure client safety.
• Maintain an active clinical caseload and meet service delivery thresholds; conduct risk and trauma assessments.
• Perform travel to foster caregiver/family settings up to 25–30% to support youth reunification.
• Document and communicate clients' progress and treatment needs to team and supervisors.
