Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program seeks a licensed or license-eligible clinician to support La Jornada, providing assessments, counseling, advocacy, and mental health stabilization for children and youth in Duluth, GA. The role involves collaboration with foster families and community partners to promote safety and reunification.

The position requires bilingual English/Spanish capability, a master’s or doctoral degree in a behavioral health field, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure; non-licensed staff must be actively working towards licensure within 3 years of employment date.
• Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required to serve the children and families.
• Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, internet search, and standard software.
• Willingness to work flexible hours with on-call nights/weekends and travel up to 25–30%.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work in a manner consistent with NYAP’s mission, values, and philosophies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional service team to provide trauma-informed mental health services including assessments and referrals.
• Provide child-facing on-site services and maintain an active clinical caseload.
• Conduct mental health assessments and provide individual and group counseling, plus crisis intervention as needed.
• Facilitate family sessions and travel to foster caregivers' homes as required.
• Coordinate and monitor services for youth and family in the community (medical, educational, psychological, social).
