Job summary

Katy ISD Franz Elementary in Katy, Texas is seeking a PK/Bilingual Aide to provide classroom assistance under the teacher's direction. The role supports instruction, maintains student records, and helps with materials and activities.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position on a 187-day schedule. Proficiency in Spanish, a high school diploma, and Paraprofessional certification are required; experience with students and a flexible schedule are valued.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Spanish, both written and oral.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Title I campus: 48 college hours required or ParaPro score of 464.
• Paraprofessional aide certificate required once employed.
• Ability to work with students and teachers.
• Ability to manage a flexible schedule.
• School office experience or volunteer experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to federal, state, and local policies and procedures related to pre-kindergarten programs.
• Participate in planned in-services and professional growth activities.
• Assist in carrying out the instructional program.
• Assist in maintaining student records and audit folders.
• Assist in preparation, use, and maintenance of instructional materials and equipment.
• Assist with teacher-planned activities, exercises, and drills.
• Assist in the teaching/learning process of working with individuals and small groups of students to reinforce skills as directed by the teacher.
• Attend professional meetings as required.
• Ability to assist in administering and scoring objective assessment instruments.
• Ability to maintain flexibility in the performance of required duties.
• Ability to place district goals above personal goals.
• Ability to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with others.
• Supervise individual and small group activities as directed by the teacher.
