Job summary

Center for Family Life in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, seeks a Bilingual English/Spanish Childcare Specialist to help families access childcare assistance, screen eligibility, enroll providers, manage records, and connect to community resources. The role tracks program data, supports outreach, and collaborates with CFLSP Benefits Access & Enrollment.

This on-site position requires travel to engage with families and providers, with occasional evening hours to accommodate families’ schedules.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience in community engagement or direct service.
• Knowledge of NYC childcare landscape or willingness to learn.
• Excellent telephone and email etiquette.
• Proficient in data entry and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff and providers to identify families needing childcare assistance.
• Screen eligibility using a standardized tool and complete applications.
• Enroll providers and assist them in enrolling children.
• Build knowledge of NYC childcare landscape in Brooklyn.
• Determine appropriate childcare type to meet family needs.
• Conduct yearly recertifications for continuing eligibility.
• Engage families and providers with clear communication and troubleshooting.
• Maintain project data and case records for each family and provider.
• Attend meetings with the project team, funder, and stakeholders.
