Job summary

Bethany Christian Services USA LLC is looking for a Casework Support Specialist in Indianapolis to assist Case Managers with paperwork, provide direct case management services, and help ensure child safety. You will coordinate school enrollment, maintain regular contact with families and agencies, and attend court hearings as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field as required by program/contract.
  • Broad knowledge of basic Human Service principles and concepts.
  • Bi-lingual English and a second language preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Reliability with deadlines and time-sensitive tasks.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and authorized to operate a vehicle in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Case Managers with essential paperwork and documentation (e.g., green card applications, funding requests, school enrollment).
  • Provide case management services including social work, counseling, and client referrals.
  • Ensure child safety while in care.
  • Attend and prepare for court hearings on assigned cases.
  • Maintain contact with schools and other organizations for updates.
  • Follow up with clients and foster families as needed; cover during absences.
  • accompany youth to immigration hearings or procedures when required.
  • Schedule and attend medical and dental appointments for clients.
  • Attend required trainings and stay updated on agency, federal, and state regulations.
  • Complete notes in the client portal promptly.

How Your Role Makes a Difference

  • Assist Case Managers with essential paperwork and documentation, including but not limited to green card applications; funding request and follow-up; and school enrollment and registration;
  • Provide case management services, to include social work, counseling and treatment of clients, and coordinate community referrals;
  • Ensure the child’s safety while in care;
  • Attend and be prepared for all court hearings that occur on assigned cases;
  • Maintain collateral contact with organizations, such as schools, to receive information and case updates;
  • Assist Case Managers in maintaining client contact for case follow-up or intervention, as requested;
  • Assist Case Managers in maintaining contact with clients and foster families during a Case Manager’s absence to ensure coverage of all program cases;
  • Accompany youth to immigration hearings or procedures, as requested;
  • Schedule and attend medical and dental appointments for clients;
  • Collaboratively work with direct supervisor to schedule and prioritize work duties;
  • Attend training as required by supervisor; This may include MDHHS Child Welfare Training Institute;
  • Administer case notes and documentation within the respective program’s client portal in a timely manner based on guidelines and procedures set forth;
  • Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services;
  • Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department;
  • May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

What Will Make You Successful

  • Bachelor’s level degree in relevant field if strictly required by the program and/or contract;
  • Must have a broad knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methodology of Human Service as acquired through a Bachelor’s level degree;
  • Bi-lingual English and a second language preferred;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Exhibit an ability to apply the principles of logic and critical thinking with problem solving;
  • Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service;
  • Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks;
  • Exercise a high level of confidentiality;
  • Work well under pressure and adaptable to change;
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany;
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage;
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
