Career Consultant, Associate

The focus of the Career Consultant position is to provide individualized support and strategies for candidates in transition to help them identify career options and achieve successful outcomes. Responsibilities include assisting with career transitions, making career shifts, pursuing entrepreneurial paths, or active retirement.

Employment Type: Part-time, hours vary each week.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Lead Consultant.

Direct Reports: No Direct Reports.

Location: Remote in Southern California, Arizona, or Colorado. Successful applicants must reside within the specified region.

Languages: Fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) highly preferred.

Key Accountabilities

1. Assist candidates with a broad spectrum of career transition needs, including managing change, assessing skills and interests, defining career goals, identifying options, guiding resume and LinkedIn profile development, interviewing, negotiating, and assimilating into new roles.
2. Support candidates in building confidence, assessing skills, and creating a career marketing plan aligned with their experience and the current job market.
3. Proactively engage, motivate, and guide candidates in utilizing LHH resources and technology tools.
4. Demonstrate expertise in job-related technology such as LinkedIn, AI, ChatGPT, ATS, and research databases.
5. Help candidates connect to jobs based on current market trends and industry/professional group involvement.
6. Educate and motivate candidates on leveraging LHH tools, including participation in career groups, forums, and job sites, in compliance with governmental requirements.
7. Provide coaching during interviews and salary negotiations to help candidates confidently navigate the job search process.
8. Manage time and priorities related to program deliverables, candidate reporting, customer projects, and participate in training and events as applicable.

All About You

• Preferred 8+ years of experience in Career Consulting or related fields such as HR, recruitment, career/leadership development, training, or management consulting.
• Experience across diverse industries like IT, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, marketing, or hospitality.
• Strong expertise in job market analysis and assessing candidate fit across industries and functions.
• Knowledge of Talent Acquisition strategies, ATS systems, sourcing, interview processes, and collaboration with recruiters.
• Proficiency with technology tools like Zoom, Teams, online portals, and MS Office.
• Strong service orientation, curiosity, and empathy to support individuals’ career development.
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple roles effectively.
• College degree preferred.
