Job summary

Father Joe’s Villages in San Diego is seeking an Employment and Career Specialist II to help clients turn skills and goals into meaningful employment. You’ll conduct assessments, career exploration, resume development, interview prep, and job search support, building plans and coaching to address barriers.

The role may focus on adults 55+ and involves collaboration with employers and community partners to create pathways to stability.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Human Services or related field.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency required.
• Minimum of three years in employment services or related field.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and active caseload.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized employment services including assessments, career exploration, resume development, interview preparation and application support.
• Develop employment plans and help clients address barriers through coaching, resource navigation, and referrals.
• Develop and facilitate job readiness workshops and employment-related activities.
• Build relationships with employers and identify opportunities aligned with client skills and goals.
• Conduct job development, employer outreach, networking, and community engagement activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to support employment goals.
• Support clients after placement to promote employment retention and success.
• Maintain accurate documentation and track client and employment outcomes.
