Job summary

Seneca is seeking a Bio/Behavioral Specialist to deliver intensive mental health services to at-risk youth and families in Contra Costa County. The role emphasizes culturally responsive care, collaboration with schools and caregivers, and trauma-informed practices within a diverse agency.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
• Flexible schedule with some evening hours.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and insurability.
• TB test clearance and fingerprinting clearance, plus any licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain caseload of 3-6 clients.
• Meet with clients and caregivers regularly to provide time-limited, individualized behavioral health support.
• Collaborate with the treatment team for crisis intervention and mental health services.
• Coordinate services including assessment, treatment planning, progress evaluation, and termination.
• Complete treatment plans, progress notes, and monthly reports accurately and timely.
• Maintain client charts per county and agency standards.
• Participate in weekly supervision and program meetings.
• Manage time sheets and mileage documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain caseload of 3-6 clients
• Meet with clients and caregivers on a regular basis to provide time-limited, individualized, and behaviorally focused mental health support services to youth and their families to further treatment goals and ensure successful transition of clients and their families
• Collaborate with the treatment team members to provide crisis intervention and mental health services
• Cultivate relationships and maintain communication with all treatment team members including participation in treatment reviews, IEP meetings, and other client related meetings
• Coordinate and implement overall services and treatment for assigned clients, including assessment, treatment planning, evaluation of progress, and termination
• Complete treatment plans, functional behavioral assessments, progress notes, monthly reports, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate and complete client charts and records to county and agency standards
• Participate in weekly individual and group supervision and all program meetings and trainings
• Maintain accurate paperwork including but not limited to time sheets and mileage reimbursement

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

• Education/Experience requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree OR
  • Associate's degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable experience OR
  • High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable experience
    • Applicable experience can include paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families or working in the social services field
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work some evening hours as needed
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy
• TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements

PREFERRED

• Experience providing crisis assessment, management, and interventions
• Experience writing progress notes and other therapeutic documentation

SCHEDULE

• Full-time; Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm
• In person meeting with clients
• Remotely can hold internal meetings and documentation
• Driving all through Contra Costa County
