Job summary

Seneca Family of Agencies seeks a Youth Stabilization Specialist for the Welcoming Center in Santa Clara County. You will supervise youth 0-17, conduct regular check-ins, provide crisis intervention, and assist with client treatment planning and transportation coordination.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree + 1 year experience OR Associate degree + 2 years experience.
  • Experience with youth or families or social services is preferred.
  • Be part of rotating emergency on-call system; must be 21+. TB/fingerprint clearance and licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise youth and help establish a stable daily routine in a home environment.
  • Participate in client treatment planning meetings (program, CFT, education-related).
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed.
  • Complete client documentation including health plan progress notes and incident reports.
  • Coordinate transportation for school, medical, activities, therapy, or court appearances.
  • Participate in staff meetings and crisis intervention training as required.

As the Youth Stabilization Specialist, you will work with youth ages 0 - 17 at the Welcoming Center ensuring the safety, stability, and growth of youth in care. You will be responsible for conducting regular check-ins to leading life skills groups, provide crisis interventions and de-escalation, participate in client treatment planning, and provide transportation coordination as needed.

The Welcoming Center is a nurturing, home-like receiving facility dedicated to supporting children and youth in Santa Clara County who face the challenges of placement disruption. Our multi-disciplinary team offers safety, care, comfort, and therapeutic support around the clock, ensuring that young people receive the immediate attention they need, 24/7. We serve young individuals who have recently been removed from their homes, are returning after an elopement, or have experienced a sudden loss of placement. Upon arrival, children and youth are greeted by empathetic and well-trained therapists and counselors. These professionals create a calm and stable environment, carefully assessing each individual\'s unique needs while working to secure appropriate placement.

Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision of youth and work with them towards maintaining a consistent, structured, and predictable routine in a home environment.
  • Participate in client treatment planning processes including:
    • Program meetings
    • Child and family team (CFT) meetings
    • Education-related services meetings
  • Implement interventions outlined in client treatment plan supporting their social and emotional mental health wellness goals.
  • Complete client-related documentation including county health plan progress notes and incident reporting procedures.
  • Provide client crisis intervention and de-escalation support.
  • Coordinate and assist with making transportation arrangements for school, medical, social activities, therapy appointments, and court hearings.
  • Provide crisis on-call support as needed.
  • Participate in program staff meetings and additional meetings when necessary.
  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca\'s Equilibrium model training. This may include intervening with the clients\' behavioral program through physical management of the clients, if applicable. Training in additional crisis intervention modalities such as CPI may be required.
Qualifications

Required

  • Education/Experience Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of experience OR
    • Associate degree or equivalent + 2 year of applicable experience
    • Applicable experience can include paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families or working in the social services field
  • Be part of a rotating emergency on-call system, scheduled ahead of time
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver\'s license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements

Schedule
  • Full-time, 100% on-site
    • Wed - Fri, 3:00 PM - 12 AM & Sat,12 PM -12 AM
  • Rotating on-call system, 1-2 days per month
Benefits
  • Starting at $31.83 - $34.33 per hour, commensurate with experience
    • Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam
