National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) is seeking an Assistant Teacher for the La Jornada program in Virginia. You will support teaching staff, help implement lesson plans, and monitor progress to foster child development in a positive environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily lesson plans, supporting individual learners, and collaborating with educators. NYAP offers extensive benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in education or early childhood education required.
• Spanish fluency is required.
• Minimum 2 years as Teacher Assistant or Paraprofessional, in diverse classroom settings.
• Proficient with office software and generic hardware (printers, scanners, etc.).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Educator in implementing lesson plans.
• Help monitor students’ academic progress.
• Deliver daily lesson plans and support classroom operations.
• Support individual children’s learning and development.
• Collaborate with staff when teacher is absent.
