Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program in Tucson, AZ seeks an Assistant Teacher to support children's learning in a nurturing environment. You will assist educators, help with lesson planning, and monitor student progress to ensure development.

The role emphasizes bilingual communication and commitment to NYAP’s mission. Requirements include an associate degree in education or early childhood, 2+ years in a teacher assistant role, and fluency in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in education and/or early childhood education.
• Valid ECE certification preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Teacher Assistant or Paraprofessional in a classroom.
• Proficient with desktop and laptop computers and common software.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish; fluency required.
• 21+ years old with a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist in teaching and support in alignment with NYAP mission and philosophies.
• Help develop lesson plans based on state requirements and student needs.
• Collaborate with educators to monitor and discuss student progress.
• Deliver daily lesson plans and support classroom management when the teacher is absent.
• Support individual children's learning and development in the classroom.
