Irving ISD is seeking a Paraprofessional to assist the classroom teacher in meeting the physical and instructional needs of students. The role involves supporting ESL students in inclusive settings, supervising students, and preparing instructional materials.
The position requires an Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate or equivalent and a High School Diploma or GED, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred in some settings.
Assist the classroom teacher to provide for the physical and instructional needs of students. Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instruction. Work under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher.
Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and district policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidences immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
