Job summary

REI Co-op in Saint George, UT is seeking a Shop Supervisor to lead Shop Mechanics and the service team, driving a best-in-class customer experience and achieving shop business goals.

The role oversees shop production, facilities, scheduling, and workforce management, partnering with the Store Manager and Regional Shop Specialist to execute store-level shop strategy and ensure REI quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years retail management experience preferred.
• 2-4 years bike and/or snow sports shop experience or transferable skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills to lead, train, motivate and develop staff.
• Commitment to providing outstanding customer services.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to drive employee engagement and customer satisfaction within the shop.
• Proactively recruit and hire to maintain trained staff for shop needs.
• Train, certify, and lead technicians to deliver shop service and meet demand and REI expectations.
• Write staff schedules considering labor guidance to maximize service across hours.
• Identify and implement ways to improve customer experience and shop workflow while maintaining quality.
• Ensure staff are trained/certified to the level of work performed and adhere to safety specs.
• Foster a diverse, inclusive shop environment and lead Shop Mechanics and Service Advisors.
• Support REI’s shop and membership initiatives and programs.
• Evaluate Shop Mechanic performance and conduct regular check-ins.
