Job summary

Scheels in Appleton, WI is seeking an Assembly Associate to efficiently assemble customer and store equipment, from bicycles and exercise machines to furniture and displays. You will read and interpret assembly instructions, follow safety manuals, and troubleshoot issues with care.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 16+ years of age, basic mechanical ability, and the willingness to work varied hours including weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently assemble customer and store equipment such as bicycles, exercise machines, furniture, game tables, and displays.
  • Maintain accurate records for store and customer equipment.
  • Read and interpret assembly instructions, safety manuals, and operation documents.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Assist with delivering and loading equipment to stores and customer residences.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership; follow assigned schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently assemble customer and store equipment. Equipment may include bicycles, exercise machines, furniture, game tables, basketball hoops, trampolines, grills, store displays, and other items designated by leadership
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as assembly instructions, safety manuals, operation, and maintenance instructions
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues
  • Assist with delivering and loading customer equipment and merchandise at the store and to customer residences
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Leadership or department leads
  • Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), 1-3 months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and be at least 16 years of age. Strong mechanical ability is preferred.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Very heavy work – Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
