Job summary

Scheels All Sports, Inc. is seeking an equipment technician to diagnose, repair, and assemble a wide range of store gear. You will work under an employee-ownership culture and contribute to a team focused on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include repairing bicycles, skis, and other gear, ordering parts, safely filling gas tanks, keeping records, and assisting with deliveries. A valid driver’s license and willingness to DOT-certify are required.

Qualifications

  • Clean, valid driver’s license required; DOT certification possible.
  • Willing to obtain DOT certification and meet Scheels driving standards.
  • Mechanical knowledge preferred.
  • Able to read and interpret safety and operating documents.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and maintain/assemble store equipment (bikes, exercise machines, skis, hockey gear, etc.).
  • Order parts from vendors and follow up for repair parts.
  • Safely fill CO2 and compressed air tanks for paintball markers.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment.
  • Assist with delivering/loading equipment to customers and residences.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operation manuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately diagnose and provide maintenance and assembly of customer and store equipment. Equipment may involve bicycles, exercise machines, snowboards, skis, hockey skates and sticks, baseball gloves and bats, golf clubs, racquet sports, archery arrows, paintball markers, and other merchandise in a Scheels Store
  • Order and follow up with vendors for repair parts
  • Safely fill CO2 and compressed air tanks for paintball markers
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment
  • Assist with delivering and loading customer equipment and merchandise at the store and to customer residences
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Must be flexible to work assigned schedules between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 11 am and 6 pm on Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate must possess a clean, valid driver’s license and be willing to obtain DOT certification and meet Scheels driving standards. Mechanical knowledge is preferred

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work.
